Good morning. It has been one full week since the General Election '06. I have been fighting basic Liberty Issues from my home town of Long Branch - The 11 th District for close to 10 years now. From the outside looking in, because our local government does not appreciate when a person speaks out against their policies.
In my struggle for Freedom of Religion, Freedom to use property and Freedom to Speak Out, I have learned just how intolerant elected officials have become in New Jersey. The problem is not just in my home town but throughout the State.
In the last year, while defending those in eminent domain abuse situations my activities have brought me to Trenton for hearings on this issue.
The one thing that has become obvious to me, is the downright unholy alliances between private parties and public officials. This is not a republican or a democratic party problem alone. It is the plague of both parties.
I am starting to think about what my Pastor use to say, many years ago. "If you do not see a good person around you, become the first and pray for it to spred it like wildfire."
I live in the 11 th district. All three of our State Representatives are Republicans. All three have been silent on the Freedom of Religion and Speech issues we have had to deal with in the district.
When it has come to Eminent domain, only Assemblyman Sean Kean did something. Unfortunately that something was to testify to continue to allow it - but pay the original property owners a few more bucks! He missed the point! People want to keep their homes and property until they elect to sell them!
I learned the Senator in the 11 th, was retiring so that will open up an opportunity to run for a vacant seat come 2007. I am a no body, a regular man, who has for the last 12 years been fighting to keep a ministry open and operating in Long Branch, NJ, against an intolerant city government. Where I use to serve homeless and addicted people a daily dose of encouragement and prayer along with basic supplies. I now found that 75% of my ministry is among folks who have been made alien in their own communities by virtue of legislation that takes away their liberty and rights.
I am planning on running in the 11 th. District 11 - Allenhurst Borough, Asbury Park City, Atlantic Highlands Borough, Avon By The Sea Borough, Belmar Borough, Bradley Beach Borough, Brielle Borough, Deal Borough, Eatontown Borough, Highlands Borough, Interlaken Borough, Lake Como, Loch Arbour Village, Long Branch City, Monmouth Beach Borough, Neptune City Borough, Neptune Township, Ocean Township, Rumson Borough, Sea Bright Borough, Sea Girt Borough, Spring Lake Borough, Spring Lake Heights Borough, Wall Township, West Long Branch Borough.
SenatorJoseph A. Palaia (R) is close to 80 now. It seems like a good time to bring forward a new agenda for the State of New Jersey. To cut our taxes, there would need to be a severing of ties between private special interests and the elected. I have no such ties. If I were to be elected it would most likely be because those that are independent of either party want to send a message. The Republicans and The Democrats have been in power all too long.
The varied third party groups have been unable to do the job in any measureable capacity. My only real tool would be the "people" who don't vote because they recognize the very same issue.
Issue number one: To break the two party stronghold over the State of New Jersey!
So on this day, I have decided to dedicate the next few weeks to decided if I run for Senate in the NJ 11 th! I will need every able bodied citizen in the 11 th to help me make this decision. Today I start my journey.
Kevin
